They say there’s no place like Frome, and at DuoBoots we’re lucky to have our Head Office and Warehouse located in this quaint Somerset town nestled in the beautiful countryside.

Frome (pronounced ‘Froom’, as the locals will be quick to point out) is where much of our behind-the-scenes work takes place and is where every pair of DuoBoots is designed, before being made in family run factories in Portugal. From our Fit Experts in Customer Care, to our ultra-efficient Logistics Team, our Head Office is a hive of activity all year round. Our brilliant Retail Team is based in neighbouring Bath, where we expertly fit women of all shapes and sizes into beautiful boots and ankle boots (find us on Milsom Street).

Named by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in the UK, Frome has gained a reputation as a creative hub over recent years; loved for its sense of community, thriving café culture and its eclectic choice of independent boutiques. Where many UK high streets are suffering, Frome has carved itself a bustling town centre and engaged community, complete with a lively music and arts scene. Being an independent retailer ourselves, we feel DuoBoots is in great company in this unique town.

Wonder down the picturesque cobbled streets (watch out for the stream running through Cheap Street!) and you’ll find quirky homewear stores, women’s fashion boutiques (both local designers and vintage) and craft stores - many of which are owned and run by female entrepreneurs - with an independent speciality coffee shop never more than a few steps away.

Whether for a day trip or weekend getaway (Longleat Safari Park is just a 10 minute drive); Frome is well worth a visit. Explore some of highlights whilst you’re here:

Shopping

Frome Independent Market

The first Sunday of each month sees the entire town centre come to life with the Frome Independent Market. Artisan traders from all over the South West showcase their work, from crafts and artwork to ethical clothing and jewellery. Well worth a visit if you’re looking to add personality to your home, shopping for unique gifts or fancy treating yourself. Don’t miss the flea market by the library, full of vintage nostalgia!

The dog bakery ensures your four legged friends won’t miss out on the market experience

The food is great too, with a wide choice of delicious local produce and flavours from all over the world, from cheese and artisan bread to Japanese specialities and Thai cuisine – with plenty of vegan options available throughout. Don’t miss the beautiful range of organic vegetables available by the market cross or indulge at the artisan bakery stalls. A fab way to spend a Sunday, with live music and street performances… the local cider stands are well worth a visit too!
